Notes & Messages
Notes are personal, private by default: a space for your own writing that only you can read. They’re end-to-end encrypted: the hub’s server stores only ciphertext, and only your account can decrypt it.
Because encryption keys live on your devices (recovered via your account password, not stored in the clear anywhere), a note only exists where it can actually be decrypted. Losing access to every device and forgetting your password would mean losing access to your notes: the hub operator can’t recover them for you, by design.
Messages
Section titled “Messages”Direct messages between members work the same way: end-to-end encrypted, readable only by the people in the conversation.
What “end-to-end encrypted” actually guarantees

- A hub operator with full server access still cannot read your notes or messages.
- Encryption happens automatically: there’s no separate “encrypt this” step to remember.
